Is it really true that One hour at the Eiffel Tower in Paris is equal to 6 minutes in the rest of the world?
Earth Hour 2013
I had the opportunity to be in Paris at the “Esplanade du Trocadero” for the Earth Hour 2013 event. There were thousands of expectant people gathered to witness when the lights at the Eiffel Tower was shut down to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change – and to be cheated as it turned out!
Lights-Out at 20:30
The “Monumental” Green-Wash…
I am sure that all of us gathered where touched by the moment when the lights went out.
I am equally sure that what happened then struck us all as Very Disappointing.
If you look at the “time-stamps” on this sequence of pictures I think you will agree.
One hour at the Eiffel Tower in Paris is equal to 6 minutes in the rest of the world!
Apparently, Earth Hour 2013 at the Eiffel Tower only last for six minutes – or equal to the time it takes for photographers to get nice pictures of a dark silouette and spread them across the Internet to show the World that they are “committed“… to the good cause!
This definitely qualify as one of the big
GREEN-WASH behaviours of 2013 !!
